Based on the proven Yamaha Virago 535 engine, the Dragstar (named V-Star in USA) cylinders were bored an additional 5 mm to 81mm and stroked 4 mm more to 63 mm, to net a displacement of 649cc. The Dragstar comes in two models. The custom with a lower seat height 695.96 mm and slightly less weight, and the classic with a higher seat height of 708.66 mm. The custom is approximately 227kg and the classic approximately 2kg heavier. The American versions of this bike have a lower HP of 33 @6500 rpm. Reasons for this restricted version may have to do with American EPA requirements.


As of 2005 the Dragstar Classic was selling retail at £5,499 and the basic dragstar (Custom) at £5,299. The Dragstar takes its styling from Harley's Fatboy, with fatter mudguards than the standard bike and shrouded forks.
The Yamaha XT 125 R Is a single cylinder enduro/adventure bike produced by Yamaha motor company since the 2003 model year. It shares its modest power plant with the ybr 125, the DT 125 RE and its super motard brother the Yamaha XT 125 X. While parts such as the transmission, chasis,are produced in Japan, the engine in Brazil the motorbike is assembled in Italy, Bologna for the european market by the Italian bike company Malaguti.

The "classic" the XT 125R has all the ingredients of the typical Yamaha XT family, being a true dual purpose machine. The 21 inch front wheel and the 18 inch rear with the typical Enduro style tyres make it fit for both road and off-road use. Seat height and ground clearance are higher comparing to the Supermotard version and the machine features the typical dual purpose handling characteristics, which makes it suitable for a wide range of duties, from crossing rough city roads to small country lanes or paths.

The Yamaha XT 660 is a series of dual-purpose on/off road motorcycles released by Yamaha Motors as a replacement for the old XT 600, a motorcycle very popular with the off-road and traveling crowd.

It is a development of the original XT series ('X' stands for CROSS, 'T' for TRAIL), a line of motorcycles inspired by those used on the Paris Dakar rally. The first XT was released in 1976.

The Yamaha DT-1 had introduced many riders to the world of trail riding, and this ground-breaking model was later followed by the introduction of many other trail bikes from other manufacturers. The new Yamaha XT500 was a natural extension of the growing trail bike category, and although it shared the same roots as its 2-stroke brother, the DT-1, it was an entirely different breed of motorcycle. Powered by Yamaha's first 4-stroke single-cylinder engine, the new XT boasted a large capacity of 500cc, and this was at a time when the popularity of big-single machines was considered by many to be past its peak. During the mid-1970s Britain's BSA was one of the few manufacturers still offering big single machines, but even this renowned brand had not released a new big single model in a good number of years.
